Packages and licences
Zaher Community Tools stand on open-source packages. Each is listed here with the version we use, its licence and the tools that load it.
How we check
A package is added only if its licence is one of the following, read from the package's own package.json and LICENSE file, and the same for its dependencies:
MIT, ISC, BSD-2-Clause, BSD-3-Clause, Apache-2.0, 0BSD
Checked on 2026-10-29. Every package loads only on the page of the tool that needs it, so the hub stays light.

Evaluated and not used
Candidates we tested and left out, and why.
- ua-parser-js (2.x): Version 2 changed its licence to AGPL-3.0-or-later. Not allowed. Bowser (MIT) is used instead.
- js-yaml (5.x): Pulls in argparse 3 under PSF-2.0, which is not on the allowed list. The yaml package (ISC) is used instead.
- arabic-transliterate: ISC, but on unvocalised Arabic (the text people actually paste) it gave wrong output on 29 Oct 2026, for example the sun-letter article. The transliteration tool uses the Library of Congress ALA-LC table written out in src/lib/tools/arabic/.
- arabic-reshaper: GPL-3.0. Not allowed.
- Schema.org vocabulary (release 30.1, 16 Sep 2026) (CC BY-SA 3.0): Type and property names used by the structured data generators and checker.
