Convert Arabizi (Arabic in Latin letters and numbers) to Arabic script, and review the ranked alternatives.

How to use

What it checks and how it works

Arabizi writes Arabic with Latin letters and numerals that stand for letters Latin lacks: 3 for ع, 7 for ح, 2 for ء or أ, 5 or kh for خ, 9 for ق or ص, and so on. The tool uses the open-source arabizikit package (MIT), which scores candidate Arabic spellings for each word with a dictionary and dialect hints, and shows the top alternatives. There is no single correct conversion. The same Latin spelling can stand for several Arabic words, and spelling varies by dialect and by writer, so treat the output as a draft that an Arabic reader must check. The tool marks the words it matched to its dictionary and lists the alternatives for the rest.

Is the conversion exact?

No. Arabizi is ambiguous by nature. The tool proposes the most likely spelling and shows alternatives for you to review.

Does the dialect matter?

Yes. Egyptian, Levantine, Gulf and Maghrebi writers use different words and spellings. Choosing a dialect helps with the ambiguous words.

What do the numbers mean?

In common Arabizi, 2 stands for ء, 3 for ع, 5 for خ, 6 for ط, 7 for ح and 9 for ق or ص. Conventions vary by writer and region, which is part of the ambiguity.
