What it checks and how it works
Google no longer shows How-to rich results. Its blog post of 8 Aug 2023, opened on 29 Oct 2026, limited them to desktop and began the change; from 13 Sep 2023 they stopped showing on desktop too, and the How-to documentation was removed on 14 Sep 2023 (Search Central updates page). The tool therefore shows that notice first and builds HowTo from the schema.org type, not from a Google page.
The tool writes name, step (HowToStep with name and text), description, image, totalTime, supply and tool. Its checks are Zaher's minimum from schema.org: name and at least one step. The markup stays valid vocabulary, and a clear step-by-step page remains useful to readers, but this tool makes no promise of a Google feature. For a recipe, use the recipe generator, which follows a current Google page.

The markup is valid schema.org and describes the steps of a page clearly. Do not expect a Google rich result from it.
On the schema.org HowTo page. The checks are Zaher's minimum from that vocabulary, not a rule from Google.
