UTM Parser and Campaign URL Auditor

Paste campaign URLs and see every utm parameter in a table, with the problems that split your reports flagged.

How to use

What it checks and how it works

Each URL is parsed with the browser's URL parser and the nine utm parameters Google documents on its URL builders page are read. The tool flags links that lack utm_source, utm_medium or utm_campaign, which Google says to always set; parameters that appear twice; utm-style names Google does not document; and values for source, medium or campaign that differ only by capitalisation across your list, which GA4 reports as separate values. It also catches a #fragment placed before the ? query, since everything after # stays in the browser and the parameters are never sent. It reads the links as written and does not follow redirects or open them, so a redirect that drops the parameters will not show here. A medium that the default channel rules do not look for is noted, because it may land in Unassigned.

Why does capitalisation matter?

GA4 treats values that differ in capitalisation as different values, so a campaign written two ways appears as two rows. The parser lists those variants so you can pick one.

Can it tell me which links lost their parameters?

It can tell you which pasted links have none. It cannot see redirects or what the visitor's browser finally loads, so to test a redirect, open the link yourself or use a redirect-chain check.

What is the fragment warning?

A fragment is the part after #. If it comes before the ? query in a URL, the browser keeps the whole query inside the fragment and never sends it to the server or to GA4, so the campaign is lost.
