How to use
- Paste your event names, one per line.
- Read the table: each name's length and whether GA4 will accept it.
- Open the notes to see the exact rule behind every rejected or flagged name.
- Rename the failing events in your plan and check them again.
What it checks and how it works
The tool applies the rules on Google's Event naming rules page: names are case sensitive, must start with a letter, may use only letters, numbers and underscores, and cannot use spaces, reserved event names or the reserved prefix query_id. It applies the 40-character limit from the Event collection limits page, and notes that an event over 40 characters cannot be reported as a key event. Reserved names are checked against the web list as errors and the Android and iOS list as warnings.
Google says the reserved lists are not exhaustive and may be updated, and that GA4 shows an error when you use a reserved name, so this check cannot know names Google adds later. It warns, without calling them errors, about names that start with a prefix Google reserves for parameter names, about capital letters, and about two names that differ only by case.
