How to use

What it checks and how it works

The tool follows Google Search Central's breadcrumb page, opened on 29 Oct 2026. A BreadcrumbList must contain at least two ListItem entries, each with a position and a name, and every item except the last needs the URL of its page. Google recommends a typical user path to the page rather than a copy of the URL structure, and says you need not include the top level or the page itself. Google's page says the breadcrumb feature is available on desktop in all regions and languages where Google Search is available. The tool numbers positions from 1 in the order you list the items. It does not check that the URLs exist or that the trail matches what readers see on the page.

How many items does a trail need?

At least two ListItem entries. Each needs a position and a name, and every item except the last needs the URL of its page.

Should the trail copy my URL structure?

Google recommends a typical user path to the page instead of mirroring the URL structure. Including the home page or the current page is optional.

Where does the breadcrumb feature appear?

Google's page says it is available on desktop in all regions and languages where Google Search is available, as read on 29 Oct 2026.
