How to use

What it checks and how it works

The tool follows Google Search Central's review snippet page, opened on 29 Oct 2026. For an aggregate rating it needs ratingValue and either ratingCount or reviewCount (this tool writes ratingCount), and recommends bestRating and worstRating. For a review it needs author and reviewRating.ratingValue, and recommends datePublished and the rating limits. The item must be one of the types Google lists, among them Book, Course, Event, LocalBusiness, Movie, Organization, Product, Recipe and SoftwareApplication. Use a dot as the decimal separator (4.6, not 4,6). For LocalBusiness and Organization, Google says reviews are for sites that collect reviews about other businesses, not about themselves, under its self-serving reviews guidelines. The tool does not verify that the ratings are real or that they are visible on the page; Google's guidelines require both.

Which properties does an aggregate rating need?

ratingValue plus ratingCount or reviewCount. bestRating and worstRating are recommended, and Google reads a numeric rating on a 5-point scale unless you set them.

Can I rate my own business?

For LocalBusiness and Organization, Google says reviews are for sites that collect reviews about other businesses. Self-serving reviews are covered by its guidelines.

Why does 4,6 cause an error?

Google's review snippet page says to use a dot instead of a comma for decimal numbers, for example 4.4 and not 4,4.
